What is Freddy’s Islands?
Freddy’s Islands:

Structure of Freddy’s Islands
Freddy’s Islands is made up of seven theme-based units, or islands. Each island
contains:
- a complete story with accompanying audio and animation.
- word recognition activities.
- practice of phrases and short sentences.
- oral practice using the record and playback facility.
- language games at different levels of difficulty.
- a sentence-building activity that activates motivating and reinforcing animation.
How Will Your Child Benefit from Freddy’s Islands?

- learn the English alphabet.
- read and understand short texts.
- understand simple spoken language and respond to it.
- acquire passive understanding of basic English sentences.

Freddy’s Islands is designed for young children who have completed Winnie’s World or have some previous knowledge of English. It aims at expanding vocabulary, developing reading and writing skills, and reinforcing speaking and listening skills. Each unit includes a variety of activities related to a topic. The vocabulary taught in Winnie’s World is reviewed and built upon.
In Freddy’s Islands, your child will:
- talk about the weather.
- identify musical instruments.
- learn to tell the time.
- talk about food and meals.
- review the parts of the body.
- talk about days of the week and dates.
- learn animal names.
- review words about school.
- learn polite expressions, such as "Thank You" and "Please."
- learn names of means of transportation.
- learn names of different locations and places.
- learn to understand and give directions.
